The Foster and Muriel McCarl Coverlet Gallery first opened in 2008 and is located on the Saint Vincent College campus in the Fred M. Rogers Center. At the McCarl Gallery, visitors will discover the history of weaving and folk traditions in the Northeastern region of the United States through research, exhibits, education, and interpretive projects. The McCarl Gallery contains exhibit and storage space for the Foster and Muriel McCarl Coverlet Collections of more than 400 hand woven coverlets made in America during the first half of the 19th century. It is one of the largest collections of "figured and fancy" coverlets in the United States. Special programming and changing exhibits make the McCarl Coverlet Gallery a must see location for adults and children alike. We are open year-round (hours vary). Please see our website, www.mccarlgallery.org, for further information and details.
