On December 16, 1773, the Sons of Liberty staged a protest of monumental size. They boarded three vessels, cracked open hundreds of wooden casks, and poured 45 tons of tea overboard. This bold and daring move helped shift our nation towards independence. A handful of people, determination, courage to stand up, and the world is changed. At the Silk Road Market, we applaud those who are trying to change the world for the better. So, in the spirit of the Boston Tea Party, we're cracking open our teas. Bring your favorite tea cup, or use one of ours, and drink up. For all of us with ties to the British, fresh baked scones will be available as well. So eat, drink, and enjoy browsing a variety of handcrafted items from around the world.
