Local: 814-647-8401

6:30–9 p.m.

The American Woodcock is a unique bird with unusual ways of feeding and attracting a mate.  Join Sinnemahoning park staff for an evening walk as we search for this gamebird, also known as the Timberdoodle, in hopes of witnessing its call and acrobatic courtship dance. Program will begin in the classroom of the Park Office & Wildlife Center with a brief introduction to the woodcock and its courtship habits, then head outdoors as darkness sets in. This free kid-friendly hike will be approximately 2 miles over uneven terrain.  Please bring a flashlight and dress for the weather.  Boots and jackets are recommended. No pre-registration is needed for this free family program.
