At over 110 years old, the Smithfield Street Bridge is the oldest steel bridge in the country. It was originally designed and built in 1845 by John Roebling, who eventually went on to design the Brooklyn Bridge in New York City. Later, the bridge was redone in 1883 to prevent swaying. If you're in Pittsburgh, this historic bridge is definitely worth a look.
