The best place to see bald eagles in the wild, year-round. Frequently, one or two will be in our riverbank tree--bring your camera! Immature eagles do not have the white head and tail until they are about 5 years of age but the young ones are equally sized and are mottled. You can watch wildlife from the comfort of the riverfront porch or right next to the river. The patient observer will see hummingbirds, bluebirds, gold finches, purple finches, mergansers, mallards, robins. They choose to nest here because of the clean, clear rivers. For an unforgettable trip, many guests choose to view eagles by hiring a guided drift-boat and go down the river in luxury! The scenery is absolutely gorgeous.
