Elk Scenic Drive

Located off I-80 in northcentral PA, the Elk Scenic Drive can be accessed from the west and east. From the west, the Penfield Exit 111 at PA Route 153. From the east at the Snow Shoe Exit 147 at PA Route 144. The drive includes Route 555 from Weedville to Driftwood along the Bennett Branch of Sinnemahoning Creek. It also follows a portion of the Bucktail Trail, Route 120. At Renovo, the drive follows Route 144 south through part of the Sproul State Forest. This 127-mile route with 23 points of interest, winds its way through 23 state forests and three state gamelands. This route provides better access to the heart of the elk range, trails, natural areas, state parks and forests. PA is blessed with a rich conservation heritage that helped to create and nuture the PA Wilds. Help preserve these lands and their beauty and value for our children and future generations.
