The Steiger House Bed and Breakfast is located at 33 North Main Street, in the Historic District of Mercersburg, Pennsylvania. The town of Mercersburg was the boyhood home town of the 15th President of the United States of America, James Buchanan. The Steiger House was built in circa 1836 by Jacob Hassler. The home has been refurbished throughout. There are four guest quarters, all with private baths and in room phones with data ports. A free full breakfast for all guests is offered between 8:00 - 9:30 a.m. each morning. Handmade and antique furnishings provide comfortable surroundings for the guests enjoyment and relaxation. Common rooms on the first floor are provided for relaxation such as reading, watching TV or a movie on tape or CD, and for friendly conversation with other guests. Complimentary wine, tea or coffee is offered as well. For business guests, fax and copying capabilities are available.
