The Southern Alleghenies Museum of Art exhibits a collection fo American art from across the country in addition to works by local artists. The permanent collection includes 19th and 20th century painting, sculpture, drawing, and prints with works by Mary Cassatt, Helen Frankenthaler, Andy Warhol, Alfred Stieglitz, Margaret Bourke-White, and John Sloan. The Altoona facility has state-of-the-art exhibition space for quarterly exhibitions and a rare collection of albumen photographic prints by William H. Rau, the official photographer for the Pennsylvania Railroad at the turn of the 20th century.
