Pittsburgh Wine Festival, Pittsburgh
The Pittsburgh Wine Festival, now in its tenth year, is known as one of the largest and most respected wine festivals in the country. Full of special events, wine seminars, demos and tastings, the Grand Tasting event attracts more than 2,500 wine connoisseurs from around the region to sample wines from around the globe at Heinz Field. Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival, Pittsburgh
The Silk Screen Asian American Film Festival is an annual event celebrating diversity and multi-cultural appreciation through the art of film. Join the festivities at theaters around the city and watch extraordinary films to gain a deeper appreciation of Asian culture. www.silkscreenfestival.org

Barnes Foundation Center City Opening, Philadelphia
On May 19, the vast art collections of the Barnes Foundation will complete its $150-million relocation from suburban Merion to a spectacular new building on Center City Philadelphia’s Benjamin Franklin Parkway, marking the first addition to the Parkway in 60 years. The new location will boast hundreds of works by Impressionist, post-Impressionist and early modern masters and African masks and Pennsylvania Dutch decorative arts will be on view in a structure that combines the vision of their original owner Dr. Albert Barnes with a contemporary and green execution. www.barnesfoundation.org

Devon Horse Show and County Fair, Devon
From its humble beginnings as a one-day show in 1896, the Devon Horse Show and County Fair has become the oldest and largest outdoor multi-breed competition in the United States. In 2010, it was named the fourth American horse show to be honored with the designation as a United States Equestrian Federation Heritage Competition. Hosting some of the top riders from around the world, this internationally recognized show and fair in Devon is an exciting and fun-filled event for the whole family. www.thedevonhorseshow.org

The Birthplace of Memorial Day Celebration, Boalsburg
Each year the birthplace of Memorial Day, colonial Boalsburg, holds a town-wide celebration in honor of its historical significance. Now in its 147th year, this Memorial Day weekend event includes a grand parade, a historical house tour and other activities for the entire family. www.boalsburg.com

June 1-10
Three Rivers Arts Festival, Pittsburgh
This annual kickoff to summer in the city features more than 300 artists in the Artists Market, with popular concerts, public art and special exhibitions throughout the weekend. Over the course of more than 50 years, the Three Rivers Arts Festival has grown from a “little outdoor art show” to the region's largest multidisciplinary showcase of visual and performing arts. www.artsfestival.net

Appalachian Trails Museum, Gardners
Celebrate the 20th anniversary of National Trails Day with a visit to the Appalachian Trails Museum in Adams County. The Appalachian Trail Museum Society serves the Appalachian Trail community by telling the stories of the founding, construction, preservation, protection and enjoyment of the Trail since its creation. The Museum collects, preserves and interprets materials relevant to these subjects in an effort to portray not only the history of the Trail, but also the essence of the physical, intellectual, emotional, and spiritual human experience of the Appalachian environment and the culture of hiking. www.atmuseum.org

The Pennsylvania Lavender Festival, Fairfield
The only lavender festival in the mid-Atlantic region is celebrating its 11th anniversary, offering tours of lavender fields, demonstration gardens, lectures and workshops. Thunder in the Valley® Annual Motorcycle Rally, Johnstown                                                
First offered to the public a decade ago, the Thunder in the Valley® motorcycle rally is one of the largest of its kind in the Northeast. Bikers from across the country visit Johnstown and Cambria County for scenic rides and to mingle with other enthusiasts. 14th Annual Made In America Tours Event, York
Get ready for a behind-the-scenes look at how some of America's favorite products are made during York County’s Made In America Tours event. Visitors can walk the production floors at companies like Harley-Davidson Motor Company, Wolfgang Candy Company and Snyder's of Hanover and sample warm potato chips at Utz. Peddler’s Village, Lahaska
Celebrating its 50th anniversary, Bucks County’s Peddler’s Village boasts everything from 70 specialty shops and six restaurants to the luxurious 70-room Golden Plough Inn and Giggleberry Fair family entertainment center.
